Who is he and why does he matter?
This is one of the most important questions I believe any writer should consider when including a character in any kind of writing. Being an unknown creative individual in a world already over-saturated with aspiring screenwriters, filmmakers, novelists, video content creators, streamers and social media influencers gives you the idea that there might not be any room for your work to be seen or your voice to be heard. Statistically, this is true. But creative people must create. That’s who I am, and I matter because, just like you, I have a unique view on life that no one else can claim. And so I must create.
What is the point of this blog?
This blog shall serve as a central repository for my creations. This website will become a nexus for all of my thoughts and ramblings, my ideas and my processes. By reading this, you will learn what I know about how to create new worlds and walk along with me on a journey to let my voice be heard.
How do you go from an unknown, unpublished, helplessly creative individual to something more than that? I have a plan, but it will be a lot of work. However, I believe the best rewards are earned, not handed down.
Today as I write this post, I’m a thirty something successful business professional who gave up his dream of being a filmmaker for the comforts of home. But who knows, maybe someday I’ll be even more than that. Maybe somewhere along the way I’ll inspire you to be something more than what you are. Only one way to find out.
